Why do you use plastic packaging?

Our jars, bottles, lids and wax clamshell packaging are all recyclable :) It’s about Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): the use of materials through the four cycles of extraction, manufacture, use and end of life is complex and it takes into account quite a few but not all planetary boundaries. In essence, glass is heavy and emits a lot of carbon plus the extraction of materials i.e. sand also has bad environmental outcomes. It’s not just about recyclability. We're currently working on finding a supplier for bioplastic - which looks and feels exactly like plastic, and can be made sterile, but is made from sugarcane not fossil fuels 😊
